STARFLEET, just like any other organization, has levels of interest, internal politics, and people that just plain get fed up.  This cartoon isn't intended to serve "either side" of any organization, but rather points to both sides and says "take a look at what you're doing."  The bottom line is that an organization is stronger when it is able to harness the talents present, and use them to shape the success and overall course of that organization.  Those that choose to bail out are, in our opinion, missing out, and the organization from which they leave becomes weaker. 

The flip side of that coin is that "diversity builds character," are regardless of what kind of diversity, I've seen proof of just that.  We look forward to your comments on this toon, and the ones that are coming as well.
